Your customer joins the WiFi, picks a package, pays with M-Pesa on their phone, and their device connects by itself. No vouchers to print, no codes to type, nobody needed at the counter.
1. They connect to your WiFi. The portal opens with your business name and your packages, for example KES 10 for 30 minutes or KES 20 for 3 hours.
2. They tap a package and pay with M-Pesa. The normal prompt appears on their phone and they enter their PIN.
3. The moment the payment confirms, the page logs their device in. They are browsing within seconds. If they close the page too early, rejoining the WiFi finishes the login.
Printed vouchers that run out at midnight. Customers calling because their code is "not working". People sharing one password with the whole street. Sitting at the shop waiting for buyers. Every sale is paid first, then the device is let online, on its own.
A hotspot router and a business account here. MikroTik hotspot works fully automatic: one walled garden entry for pay.vunaonline.co.ke and a small scheduler that we give you as copy-paste. TP-Link Omada, Ruijie, Ubiquiti and OpenWrt setups can use the same portal page with voucher codes while automatic login support is added.
Every sale appends to your dashboard: time, device, package, amount, and whether the device connected. Money settles to your own M-Pesa till or bank account, the same as every other payment you take through VunaOnline.
WiFi sales run on the standard VunaOnline pricing, not a separate plan: free under KES 10,000 collected in a month, 2.5% between 10,000 and 100,000, flat KES 2,500 above that. No setup fee, no contract, no per-router charge.
Hotspot resellers, cyber cafés, barbershops, lodgings, hostels, eateries, apartments and anyone selling internet time in a neighbourhood. If you already run a MikroTik with hotspot, you can be live in under an hour.
Do customers need to type a voucher code?
No. On MikroTik hotspot the page logs the device in automatically the moment payment confirms. No code is printed or typed.
Where does the WiFi money go?
Straight to your own M-Pesa till or bank account, the same as every other payment you collect through VunaOnline.
What does WiFi billing cost?
It runs on standard VunaOnline pricing, not a separate plan: free under KES 10,000 collected per month, 2.5% between KES 10,000 and 100,000, and a flat KES 2,500 per month above that.
Which routers work?
MikroTik hotspot is fully automatic with the setup script we provide. TP-Link Omada, Ruijie, Ubiquiti and OpenWrt can use the same portal page with voucher codes for now.
Do customers need internet to pay?
They do not need full internet. Their M-Pesa prompt arrives over the mobile network, and the router only needs to allow the payment page through the walled garden.
